🐾 surrenders & stray pets

We want to guide you toward the right care and resources.

We know that navigating options for a stray animal or facing the hard choice to surrender a pet can be overwhelming. While Sota Saves provides specialized rescue and affordable wellness services, our capacity and intake models are focused on specific community programs.

Because Sota Saves does not hold a municipal or county animal control contract, we are unable to accept stray or found animals.

If you've found a stray pet:

  • Contact local animal control: Reach out to the city or county animal service agency where the animal was found. They are the designated first stop for lost pets trying to find their owners.

  • Check local shelters: City and county impound facilities are legally recognized as the central drop-off locations for found pets.

  • Please note: Sota Saves does not perform Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) services for community cats.

Surrendering a stray animal

We understand that life circumstances change, and surrendering a beloved companion is never an easy decision. Because our Animal Wellness Center and foster network operate at maximum capacity to serve our ongoing rescue cases, we are currently unable to accept owner-surrendered pets.

At this time, we recommend reaching out to additional rescues and shelters. Larger local humane societies and animal control agencies often have dedicated surrender resources and support programs.
