🐾 adoption process
We believe good people make good pet parents.
There’s no such thing as a "perfect" pet parent, so we don't expect you to be one. At Sota Saves, we use an open, conversation-based process to help you find the right match for your home and lifestyle. By doing this, we’re lowering adoption barriers and helping pets find better matches.
How our adoption process works:
Submit an application: Fill out a form to show your interest. We review applications in the order they’re received and will always keep you updated on where you are in line.
Chat with us: We’ll talk through what you’re looking for and help you get to know the pet. If an animal isn't the best match, we can help you find one that is!
Make it official with your best friend: Once it feels like a great fit for both you and the pet, you’re ready to bring them home.
Pro tip: Kittens and puppies find homes fast! If you have your eye on a specific pet, apply right away.

In addition to our standard schedule of care, sometimes, our animals require additional medical attention. This could include dental work, urinalysis, fecal exams, heartworm treatment, skin scrapes, and occasionally emergency medical treatment. All veterinary services received by your new pet will be shared with you before the adoption is finalized, and you will receive copies of your pet’s veterinary records after adoption.

To ensure the well-being of our rescued animals and provide adopters with adequate time and resources to acclimate their new pets, Sota Saves has implemented the following policy regarding the adoption of animals.
Adopters are permitted to adopt a maximum of one canine within a six-month period and a maximum of two felines within a six-month period through Sota Saves.
To ensure the well-being of adopted animals and provide them with adequate time to adjust to their new home, Sota Saves enforces the following adoption limits and spacing requirements:
Within a six-month period, adopters may adopt either:
One (1) dog and one (1) cat OR
Two (2) cats
If adopting two cats within the six-month period, they must either:
Be from the same litter OR
Be adopted at least 90 days apart
If adopting one dog and one cat, the second adoption must occur at least 90 days after the first.
This policy is designed to:
Provide adopters with the opportunity to fully integrate their new pets into their homes.
Reduce the potential for adopters becoming overwhelmed by the responsibilities of pet care.
Ensure that each animal receives the attention, training, and care they need to thrive in their new environment.
This policy will be enforced by our team during the application and screening process and any violation may result in restrictions on future adoptions.
